Whisky, a drink of men. Famous when smooth, infamous when cheap. Sometimes we come across one that shows the true best of both worlds. Easy on the tongue and the wallet. As is my pick of the week. Every self-respecting gentleman should know his drinks, and be able to keep them down. Now when it comes to real manliness, whiskey ranks up there alongside fire, explosions, cars, and women. Every week we’ll explore the tones of our tastebuds and test the limits of our livers. The poison of our choosing for this week?
Glenfiddich “Valley of the Deer” – Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Ranging from 12- 50 years old, Glenfiddich is the worlds most awarded single malt whisky. Founded by William Grant in 1887 the company is up till this day still owned and run by his descendants. In 1886 William, his seven sons , and two daughters started building their own distillery. Brick by brick, stone for stone. They had no idea how godly their nectar would become. Or how revered their whisky would one day be. If you feel like being a bit of a whisky connaisseur and you’re looking to purchase one of these oaken puppies, take a pick from one of their three categories: Core Range, Special Editions or Rare & Vintage
Now before we go on to the last section a little footnote. If you thought some of the above bottles were expensive you haven’t seen the next section yet. I honestly don’t even WANT you to drink the next ones if you haven’t had any whisky experience. It would be a waste of a good whisky. Blasphemous. You think you are a true connaisseur of the fine beverages and are ready to try the big boy drinks? Check out the next masterpieces of the whisky world:
To buy one of these, click on Glenfiddich to browse their wares. Tune in again next week upon which we’ll go further in our conquest of the spirits. If you want to be a (gentle)man, learn to drink like one. See you!
