Hard work. This is the answer that many entrepreneur will give you when they were asked about the key to success. But is this true? When we observe this issue it would mean that everyone has been so successful. This would mean that Bill Gates, who has a 9 billion – annually works 200,000 times harder than someone who has a good 45 000 each year. Is this even possible?

Yes, hard work pays off. However, at some points, you can just not work harder. A day has only 24 hours and a few hours of sleep is also so nice. So you can not work harder or longer than others. So that’s why you must work smarter.

You learn from people who are already successful: Find a guide

In each adventure comes the point where the hero encounters an obstacle that even he can not beat. This is the moment where the guide comes in. Look at the classic: Frodo needs Gandalf, Luke needs Obi-Wan and you also need a guide/character.

Probably there will not come a sorcerer with a long beard on your path that points you the way. Your guide is formed by the people around you. People who lift you up and challenge you. This is your shortcut: meet the right people, get in touch with the correct network. This will become your success momentum.

As an entrepreneur you are constantly looking for improvements, innovations and new ideas. It may be that you walk into anything or have doubts about something. Of course you share your unique business concept, new social media platform or dating app not quite to the world. Nevertheless, you should not be afraid to share your knowledge with the people around you. Find people with a critical eye who are not afraid to spar with you. Do not be that person who is doing constantly mysterious. Mystery kills your creativity, creates mistrust, making people distance themselves from you.

 

By being open to others you give yourself a creativity a boost, you dare to step out of your comfort zone and increase your network.

Still, Shortcuts to success is no fixed point which gives any warranty. It is a guide, a mindset and way how you represent yourself to other people.

  1. You reach your goals faster when you have someone else’s footsteps as a springboard.
