Old cement factory transformed into extremely brutal residence

As an architect you see potential in buildings where another might think it is a ruin. like the old cement factory. Architect Ricardo Bofill was eligible to the factory and was hooked. He bought the factory and made an extremely brutal residence here.

Ricardo Bofill

Ricardo Bofill is a Spanish architect and is considered an architect of postmodernism. He has several works to his name, but this plant is like no other. Bofill was first considered by the cement factory in 1973. He immediately saw all the potential that the ruin had and would take action. He decided to buy it, along with his team.

La Fábrica

The building is located in Barcelona. Nowadays Bofill lives here and he also works from “La Fábrica” as the plant is called. The team Bofill studio is located in one of the silos. It is designed in the sign of minimalism, there are many open spaces and high ceilings. The result is brilliant.
