How to make a perfect first impression with body-language

Research has shown that 93 percent of the first impression is body language, which means you can come across as a complete dick or as the ideal friend or employee, without ever having said anything.

A first date, the first meeting with the parents of your new lover, an important presentation or a job interview. Body language says it all. And for all those first impressions that have come, we give you tips to use next time.

Note movements in your face

Nod and smile indicate that you are interested and that you are listening. By nodding three times gently you show that you understand it fully. Even your eyebrows play a big role with this. By lifting them half a second and then lower it again, you create attention and interest.

Eye contact

Eye contact shows that you pay attention to what the other says. Now, this does not mean you have to stare the other as a creep. But casually making eye contact is good. And it’s okay to look around when the conversation has a short break. If you have trouble making eye contact, take yourself than to watch the eye color of your interlocutor. This force yourself if it were to look at the other’s eyes. As you focus on it, it looks like you have everything under control.

Smile

When your mouth curls up late, you show that you are listening and it can relieve the time. When in doubt or anything like very funny intended or not at all, then just let your mouth slightly curl upward. A fake smile is still worse than no smile.

Firmly handshake

A solid handshake, without squeeze the other hand, is a sign of a strong character. A limp handshake immediately gives the impression that you are shy and not a firm footing in your shoes. Show that you are equal by giving a hand with an open palm, thumbs up together. Keep your hand always vertical and not slanted.

The place of your arms

The movement and the place you hold your arms is something you should pay attention to. Keep your arms during an important meeting ever casually along the body rather than a cross. Crossed arms may seem disinterested or closed. If you can not keep your hands still good, you are allowed to make gestures. Showing your palms give the gesture that the other is welcome.

The direction of your feet

Usually, we spend here the least attention, but our feet must not be forgotten when it comes to body language. Make sure you boot your noses always pointing towards your date. Nothing says more ‘I want out of here “then feet pointing towards the door.

Reflect

By reflecting the interviewer, you create bonding with the other. Stand in front of the other. When he/she is very quiet, do not go very extensive waving your arms. When you are in a group, make sure that your body is in the direction of the ones you want to impress, so you show that you’re interested.

It is not only important that you pay attention to your own body. By watching other people’s body language, you can learn a lot about what the other is thinking. This is useful if you have a job interview, a date or any other important meeting. Note on a date on these signs, because otherwise you can forget about a second date.
