This watchtower was built after the Great Fire in 1910 and occupied by full-time firefighters to prevent the same type of disaster in the future. Meanwhile, the tower has been superseded by a variety of new detection techniques, so this provides a great stop for hikers.
The observation tower in this photo series is maintained by voluntary capacity. Hikers can ‘for a small donation’ stay overnight on a first come first serve basis. The cottage offers 360-degree views of the beautiful Park Butte, USA. The sun can see comments or shelter is truly a magnificent experience. More info here.
