The Burj Al Arab hotel is one of the most famous buildings in Dubai and with the immense height of 321 meters the beautiful architecture can be seen from almost the entire city area . This luxurious hotel, that has opened its doors in 1999, is part of the Jumeirah hotel group and is known as the only 7 star hotel in the world.
The hotel is built on an artificial island in the Persian Gulf, about 300 meters away from the mainland. According to rumors, the construction of the hotel has been so expensive that the Burj Al Arab must be fully booked for 400 years in order to be profitable. The exact amount of construction costs has never been disclosed, but there is are rumors of the amount being about 650 million dollars.
Spending the night at the Burj Al Arab hotel is not cheap. Prices varied from more than five hundred to thousands of dollars per night.
Reportedly, the two royal penthouses can be booked for $30,000 and $ 50,000 per night! For that price you get a private butler which is available for 24 hours a day and a private driver who’s always ready with the Rolls Royce or Maybach to drive you around.
One of the restaurants in the Burj Al Arab, Al Muntaha (literally “the highest”) is located 200 meters above the Arabian Gulf and offers stunning views overseeing the coast of Dubai and the city itself. Another restaurant, the Al Mahara, which is reached via a simulated submarine voyage, features a large deep sea aquarium in which more than one million liters of water are held.
For ordinary mortals, which have no room booked at the hotel, it’s almost impossible to freely walk or view within the Burj Al Arab. However, there are a few opportunities to admire the impressive interior of the Burj Al Arab. One of those opportunities is the Sky Afternoon Tea which is open 6 days a week from 1 pm to 5.
