The battle for the world’s tallest building
At present, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is the tallest building in the world. With his 828 meters it’s about two hundred meters higher than the number two the Shanghai Tower in China. Currently on the third place is the Abraj Al Bait in Mecca in Saudi Arabia. But there comes a moment that Burj Khalifa have to give this prestigious title its return again, in fact they are building the future tallest building right now to make that happen. Here are the competitors. ‘The Tower’ The Burj Khalifa faces competition from a number of enthusiastic projects and one of them stands a little further. Dubai is in fact building on a project that is currently untitled but will be known as ‘the Tower’. It should be a building of 928 meters high, exactly 100 meters higher than the Burj Khalifa. In 2020 with the World Expo Site in Dubai the new tower should be ready. Jeddah Tower (Kingdom Tower) Saudi Arabia is also brisk building on the Jeddah tower, which formerly was called the Kingdom Tower. The bar for this project was literally gigantic high. TThe developers planned to build towards the 1600 meters but adjusted their ambitions. For now the Jeddah tower must be 1000 meters high and it should be also ready in 2020. Sky City And we also have the Sky City which is under construction in Changsha, China. The original intention was to built a skyscraper and would be 838 meters high, 10 meters higher than the Burj Khalifa and thus the highest tower in the world. It currently rumbles surrounding the construction of Sky City and at the construction of the tower is sleeping. However, the Chinese are determined to build the tower ever, but it is not known how and when exactly.
